About us

What is the Scientific Advisory Committee on Radio Frequencies and Health?

The CCARS is an independent institution, comprised of acknowledged experts in Medicine, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Law and other related disciplines, whose mission is to provide elements of judgement, information and advice of a scientific and technical nature to Public Administrations and society as a whole in debates that might arise regarding questions concerning radio frequencies and health.

Who is the CCARS composed of?

The members of the Committee were chosen for their proven experience and professional capacity in various disciplines related with the assessment, management and communication of the possible health hazards stemming from exposure to electromagnetic fields.

The Committee is open to accepting new members in order to gain the greatest number of experts in the different areas related with exposure to radio frequency fields and health.

Who funds the CCARS?

The CCARS is an independent committee and its activities are funded by the Fundación General of the Complutense University of Madrid (FGUCM).
